Coming up at The WineBar

Thursday and Friday 5-8:30
Saturday 1-8

August 14-16: "TASTE A TRIO, GULP A GLASS" - Our WineBar menu offers many different selections in two sizes: by the taste OR by the whole glass. Many of our visitors prefer to do 2-ounce tastes, but this week we encourage you to PONDER your wine by buying a whole glass after sampling three different inspirations. Our reasoning? We submit that you can't really KNOW a wine with just one taste, and we have lots of wines that are begging to be better known. You don't have to play along, but this weekend's menu is being structured for savoring. We'll offer 4 different 3-taste trios; 3 dry rose's, 3 Chardonnays, 3 Cabernets, and 3 "Out There" Reds. Taste a trio, and follow that with a glass of your fave. Now, that's wine appreciation!

August 21-21: "STAFF SELECTIONS" - In a manner of speaking, every wine on our sales floor is a staff selection. That said, certain wines "say" something special to particular wine lovers, and this week you'll get a feel for what each of us individually prefers. Sadly, Kent only goes for White Zin and we're plum out, so he can't play. The rest of us will contribute our ideas to this weekend's adventurous WineBar flight. Join us!

August 28-30: "WINE AND CHEESE" - This popular theme returns to highlight some of our newest food items, as selected by our food buyer Lothlorien. When you purchase this weekend's tasting flight each wine will be served with a little morsel alongside. It could be a great new cheese, some exotic Spanish tidbit, or . . . Lolo's Surprise! Let's yum it up!

September 4-6: "BROWN BAG MYSTERY WINES" - Unless you're up for the challenge, we won't put you on the spot to guess the identity of all of this week's bottles-in-disguise. This tasty exercise is meant to be fun - AND useful. When do we get the chance to objectively taste; to try wine without knowing price, producer, or grape variety? Your wine world will enlarge by tasting a six-wine brown bag flight every once in a while, and that's a good thing! Of course, we'll tell you what you were sippping once you've had them all!
